    Your Guide to a Styled Sofa

    Stumped by pillow combinations? Don’t fret. Designer throw pillows are a simple way to give any sized sofa a finished look. With so many square and lumbar pillow size options, you might be wondering where to start. Here are some styling tips that we share with our clients for a no-fail guide to pillow combos. 

     

    Standard Size Sofas | Measuring 72 - 96 inches wide

    Shop for an odd number of sofa throw pillows for a natural and inviting arrangement, one to three or five. For a traditional look, go for an even number of throw pillows for symmetry. Two or four large pillows positioned on opposite ends of the sofa will be eye-pleasing and tailored. Seeking a minimal inspiration for your sofa? Make it count with either a geometric pattern or a solid velvet pillow! Prefer more fluffy pillows on your sofa? A few big pillows look cleaner than a collection of smaller ones. Try mixing different textures, colors and patterns. When using large pillows, pop them into the ends and place smaller pillows in front. If you have a modern sofa with a low back, consider 18x18 inch pillows. Don’t forget about solids! They add oomph to any pillowscape.

    Small Size Sofas | Measuring less than 72 inches wide

    Seating surfaces for smaller sofas and loveseats may run smaller than a regular sized sofa so stick to just a few pillows.
